With a 197-201 win over Burlington Aug. 30, the Union Grove High School girls’ golf team improved to 2-1-1 in the Southern Lakes Conference.

“We didn’t play overall very well,” head coach Eric Swanson said. “Paige (Murdoch) had a nice round, but otherwise we struggled.”

Murdoch had a 45 on the par-35 back nine at Browns Lake Golf Course.

Emily Garbie was the second-best Bronco with a 50.

“She actually had a very nice round, also,” Swanson said.

Mari Suokko and Tara Manteufel each carded 51s, while Jorey Staven had a 56.

The Bronco girls hosted Elkhorn on Thursday at Ives Grove Golf Links.

Next week, they will participate in the Racine Park Invitational on Monday, Sept. 10, at Johnson Park Golf Course in Racine; and will take on SLC foe Lake Geneva Badger on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Hawks View Golf Course.

On Wednesday, Sept. 12, they will play in the Westosha Central Invitational at Brighton Dale Links. This invitational was rescheduled from August 16.
