The Burlington/Badger/Wilmot gymnastics team hasn’t hit its peak yet – which might be scary for other teams in the state.

In spite of counting a few mistakes Jan. 19 at home, BBW still posted a season high score in defeating Waukesha Combined.

BBW won the dual meet, 146.725-130.000.

“I know we left a couple of points on the floor,” said BBW coach Diane Biedrzycki. “We have room for improvement.

“I said to the girls after the meet, ‘We wouldn’t want to have nothing to improve on.’”

Bailey Fitzpatrick won the all-around with a score of 37.075, and added the individual win on floor with a 9.55. She also scored a 9.05 on bars, an 8.9 on beam and a 9.575 on vault.

Molly Benavides won vault with a 9.675, Jenna Fitzpatrick the uneven bars with a 9.55 and Michelle Dankle beam with a 9.10.

Benavides finished second in the all-around with a score of 36.5, scoring a 9.25 on bars and floor but just an 8.325 on beam after two falls.

Dankle added an 8.925 on bars and a 9.525 on floor for her day, while Marlee Brunow had a 9.075 on vault, an 8.275 on bars and an 8.85 on floor. Robynanne Scheuerman scored a 9.2 on vault and an 8.7 on floor, while Alice Gordon had a 9.025 on vault and an 8.35 on beam.

“I don’t feel 100 percent,” Biedrzycki. “Our skills are there 100 percent. But I feel like there’s room to improve. We need to work on some details.”

On Tuesday, the squad traveled to Whitewater for a meet against the undermanned Whippets, winning 140.65 to 95.325.

The Demons competed a number of junior varsity athletes, and Lauren Otter saw her first action of the year after breaking her ankle in December.

Otter scored an 8.25 on the balance beam to take third on that event. Jenna Fitzpatrick and Dankle tied for first on the event with twin 8.9s.

BBW swept the top three spots on each event. Brunow won the vault with a 9.0 and placed third on bars with an 8.5. Gordon was second on vault with an 8.9, while Mariah Kerr was third with an 8.5, tied with Cassidy McQuillan of Whitewater.

On the uneven bars, Jenna Fitzpatrick won with a 9.55, followed by Bailey Fitzpatrick (9.35) and Brunow. On the floor, Bailey Fitzpatrick won with a 9.6, while Benavides and Dankle both scored 9.35.

Among the other competitors for BBW were Ciara Johnson on bars, Jordan Borkovec on the floor and Aubrey Weinhammer on the balance beam. Scheuerman competed on both vault and floor
