Here are the unofficial results from Tuesday’s election:

Burlington Area School District board

Challengers Phil Ketterhagen and Roger Koldeway earned election to the Burlington Area School District Board, knocking off a pair of multi-term incumbents.

Based on the unofficial totals from Racine and Walworth counties, Ketterhagen had 3,013 votes, while Koldeway had 2,817. Incumbents John Anderson (2,492 votes) and Susan Kessler (2,460) followed. Ketterhagen and Koldeway were elected in what has been a contentious race highlighted by accusations that the board did not ask enough from teachers in an attempt to avoid a tax levy increase as part of the 2011-12 budget.

Burlington City Council

In the only truly contested election Tuesday night for council, Tom Preusker edged out Kent Strong 386 votes to 278 for the vacant fourth district position.

Ruth Dawidziak had 291 votes to 199 for Peter Girolomo in the second district, but Girolomo dropped out of the race earlier this year.

Tom Vos (third district) and Ed Johnson (first district) ran unopposed and were re-elected. Vos garnered 565 votes, while Johnson got 326.

Mayor Bob Miller was also re-elected unopposed, with 1,983 votes.

Racine County Supervisor, District 18

Incumbent Gilbert Bakke was elected to another term on the County Board by a nearly 2-1 margin over challenger Patrick Haley. Unofficial totals posted Tuesday night show Bakke with 1,101 votes to 640 for Haley. The district includes the villages of Waterford and Rochester and portions of the Town of Dover.

Rochester Village Board Trustee

Christian Johnson (481 votes), Christopher Bennett (439) and Russ Kumbier (435) were the top vote-getters for three seats on the Village Board. Charlie Pietrowski (404) and Steve Fladwood (379) were eliminated.

Waterford Union High School District Board

Incumbents Kevin Malchine (2,276 votes) and Don Engler (1,614) claimed the two available seats on the Waterford Union High School Board. Daniel Jensen (1,398) and Deanna Stever (1,240) fell short in their bids. The seats carry three-year terms and pay $3,800 annually. An earlier post indicating there was a tie for one of the seats was in error.

 Waterford Village Board Trustee

Stephen Denman (621 votes), Ronald Kluth (593) and Donald Houston (536) claimed the three available seats on the Waterford Village Board. Tamara Pollnow failed to earn a spot with 489 votes.

Town of Waterford Board Supervisor

Timothy Szeklinski (765 votes) and Dale Gauerke (691) won election to the Waterford Town Board. The third candidate, Jeffrey Klyzub finished out of the running with 363 votes.

Circuit Court Judge Branch 10

With just 61 votes separating the candidates, Burlington attorney Timothy Boyle held on for a slim victory in the race for the open Branch 10 judge’s seat. With all precincts reporting, Boyle leads Municipal Judge Mark Nielsen 16,039 to 15,978. Such a close margin may prompt Nielsen to request a recount.

Circuit Court Judge Branch 5

Attorney Mike Piontek claimed a victory over current judge and former Racine County District Attorney Michael Nieskes for the Branch 5 judge’s seat. With all the votes counted, Piontek held a 17,275-13,654 lead over Nieskes, who was appointed to the seat by Gov. Scott Walker in December.
