Miss Burlington Area ChocolateFest Stephanie Kok showed off her talent Wednesday evening at Miss Wisconsin – and made a major splash.
Kok won her section’s talent preliminary, defeating 11 other entries in the preliminaries at the pageant. The preliminary competition is broken down into two groups, with 12 young women in each group.
Kok, who won Miss BAC last year and served her year with a platform of eating disorders awareness with the holdover pageant before going to Miss Wisconsin, played “Czardas” – a popular Hungarian piece – on the violin. The talent competition is worth 35 percent of the final score, giving Kok an edge toward making Saturday’s top 10.
She is a student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, a native of Franklin, and entered the Miss BAC pageant after watching friend Brittny Henderson mature through the system as the 2010 winner.
