The Burlington Common Council approved an amendment to its 2013 budget by unanimous vote Tuesday night.
The change, which city staff termed housekeeping, is putting a loss of revenue at the water and wastewater level at about $1.1 million – mostly because of the fire at Echo Lake Foods and the resulting loss of water use there.
The general fund expenditures also decreased $168,000. The City of Burlington Fire Department parking lot was expected to be financed, but came in under the 2013 roads project and line item budgets.
The council also unanimously approved a wording change to its revolving loan fund policy and procedures manual – to match state language – and a change to the municipal code that establishes requirements for various users of the city’s wastewater collection and treatment systems.
