Average retail gasoline prices in Wisconsin have fallen 5.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.27 per gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 3,112 gas outlets in Wisconsin.
This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.30, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Wisconsin during the past week, prices yesterday were 14.8 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 13.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 13.3 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 26.4 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
“The sudden drops in crude (oil) prices have pushed gasoline futures down as well, with motorists on the winning side of this all,” said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
“Americans are spending over $100 million per day less on gasoline than they did a year ago,” DeHaan said.
Regular unleaded gas prices in the Burlington area were reported at $3.15 per gallon on Monday.
