While awards are nice, Burlington Minuteman Press owner Jim Little knows he wouldn’t be anywhere without his customers.

“Without our customers, we don’t have customer service,” said Little Tuesday after his store won the Minuteman Press regional Customer Service award.

Little and the Burlington store were nominated by regional vice president Doug Harlan, who said Little’s “exemplary staff” and “willingness to serve the community” continually bring customers back for more business.

The award is one of five regional awards given out every other year. The Burlington store received an overall performance award in 2008.

It’s been a busy summer for Minuteman in Burlington. The company bought the Bulletin in June, and recently relocated to its new office at 1201 Milwaukee Avenue – the former site of the Burlington Co-Op store.

There are 51 different Minuteman stores in the regional, which covers Illinois, Wisconsin and Northern Indiana. But while the award was another plus for Little, he was also quick to think everyone around him.

“I think it’s very important because of the type of community we live in,” said Little, who also thanked all of his staff. “I think customer service is what keeps the loyalty as much as anything.

“We believe that that’s the number one priority over anything.”
