During the peak of this week’s snowstorm, deputies with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department responded to 77 calls for assistance from motorists, according to department officials.
The snow-related calls, which came in between 2 p.m. Feb. 26 and 10 a.m. Feb. 27, resulted in only minor injuries for several drivers.
The majority of the calls were to assist drivers who ended up in the ditch. Officials report that many of the incidents involved damage to vehicles.
