The Burlington Area School District sent out its automated phone call to residents shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, cancelling school for the second straight day due to dangerous wind chills.
Superintendent Peter Smet said in the message that the National Weather Service was predicting dangerously cold wind chills for most of the school day Tuesday, and that school would be out of session for the second day in a row.
“Thank you for your patience during this very challenging winter message,” Smet said.
The private schools in Burlington are following policy that dictates they will follow the decision of the public schools in the city, and will be closed as well.
