With a little bit of humor and a lot of sass, the Haylofters’ youth production this year takes aim at a popular series.
“Sally Cotter and the Censored Stone” premiers tonight. Thursday through Saturday performances are Aug. 7-9 and Aug. 14-16 at 7 p.m. Sunday matinees are Aug. 10 and 17 at 2 p.m.
The show follows Sally Cotter as she falls asleep while reading a popular wizarding book series, and dreams she is a student at Frogbull Academy of Sorcery. She meets several new friends – and also the mysterious “censors.”
The show is double cast, with the “Sally” cast performing in the main roles the first week, and the “Cotter” cast in the main roles the second week.
The show is directed by Paula Lovrine, with student directors Natasha Dunn, AnneMarie Lovrine and Zach Spencer.
