Burlington United Methodist Church, 857 W. State St., is hosting an antique and collectible appraisal fair on Saturday Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Certified appraiser Barbara Eash will give verbal appraisals for $5 per item with a maximum of three items.
Welcome items include lamps, jewelry, tribal art, guitars, dolls, tools, textiles, pottery, toys, quilts, glassware, sterling silver, agates, sports memorabilia, vintage signs, etc. No stamps, coins, or military items.
Eash will discuss what is a fair selling price, market value versus insurance value, how to determine authenticity versus reproductions and more.
Eash is a well-known, expert appraiser who organizes the appraisal fair for Milwaukee Public Television. She is a columnist for the Waukesha Freeman newspaper and Country Woman magazine. She is an instructor at University of Wisconsin–Waukesha.
All are welcome to come receive an appraisal or stay and watch as she appraises others’ items – just like on TV. Free coffee will be served. Youth will be selling baked goods.
