The Racine County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Salem couple Tuesday after the couple sold heroin for the third time to a confidential informant.
Blair LaRose, 32, and Ashley Fay, 26, are each facing three counts of delivery of heroin and four counts of second degree reckless endangerment charges because the couple’s two children were in the car for two of the three purchases.
On the third purchase, the suspects suggested leaving one of the children behind as collateral to ensure they would return with additional heroin. The Racine County Metro Drug Unit and the Kenosha Drug Task Force served a search warrant on the couple’s address in Salem, seizing drug paraphernalia and finding the home in “deplorable” condition.
The children were taken into protective custody. For more on the case, see next week’s print edition of the Burlington Standard Press.
