A City of Burlington resident is facing felony charge after kicking everything from arresting offers to a squad car cage during an incident on Dec. 26.
Darla George, 30, is facing a charge of battery to a peace officer – a Class H felony – as well as misdemeanor charges of resisting an officer, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
According to the criminal complaint from the Racine County district attorney’s office, police were called to George’s home on Wegge Court for a report of a physical altercation between two women.
Police were greeted by a woman who lives with George. She said George knocked on her door and began yelling about a cable TV bill. When that woman opened the door, George allegedly pushed her.
George told police that the other woman struck her first. After the two officers talked, both agreed that George appeared to be the aggressor in the incident. When they talked to her, though, George allegedly told them, “(Expletive) that, she hit me first.”
In the report, police say they tried to calm George down, but the situation quickly escalated. George allegedly told one officer “shut your face,” and raised her hands toward the officer.
When police tried to arrest her, she allegedly tried to pull away, grab onto the handcuffs, and then try to kick the officer.
George was eventually taken to the city police station, where she continued to refuse to cooperate. She allegedly then kicked Lt. Mark Anderson, and threatened to bite him.
According to the report, her behavior continued to escalate, including her kicking at a bench, breaking a plastic lock box for a phone and kicking internet wires out of the wall.
When police were driving her to Racine County Jail, George allegedly began to kick the divider separating the front and back seats of the squad car.

I think they should have thrown her in the back of a pickup truck to take here to jail. Not Really, but, what did she think was going to happen. The more out of control these people get, the more they think they get there way. Sad to say but the squeeky wheel sometimes get shoot, but Its someone elses fault. If the everyday person could ride alone on a police call, I think the mouth would be shut.
Um don’t say that about my mother like that this article doesn’t have the truth. I witnessed everything that happened and non of this is true.
If none of this is true, how come she plead guilty to this and a couple dozen other felonies? Hmm? Sure, she’ll probably get off easy because of Racine County’s broken justice system. Unfortunately for the citizens of Burlington, we’ll have to continue to live with this menace. Sadly, it sounds like you’re on the same path. Like mother, like daughter.
