The Racine County Sheriff’s department conducted a search warrant and arrest in Wind Lake Thursday afternoon, shutting down what the sheriff’s department called ‘a large and elaborate marijuana grow.’
James E. Campbell, 53, was taken into custody. He is being held at the Racine County Jail on charges of manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, keeper of a drug house for manufacturing THC and possession of drug paraphernalia. His initial bond is set at $87,600.
The sheriff’s department discovered 95 marijuana plants in various stages of maturity, close to 10 pounds of marijuana buds, leaves and stem, as well as marijuana butter (used in edible marijuana items) and wax (used for smoking).
The sheriff’s department estimated that a pound of marijuana can sell for between $1,000 and $4,000. Campbell allegedly admitted to investing $8,000 in the growing operation, and had a $500 a month electric bill.
