Several area emergency services responded to a garage fire in Yorkville early Friday morning, which resulted in no injuries.
According to a press release from the Racine County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched at about 1:40 a.m. Friday. Raymond Fire and Rescue, Kansasville Fire and Rescue, Union Grove – Yorkville Fire and Rescue, South Shore Fire and Rescue, Wind Lake Fire and Rescue, and the Racine Fire Bells also responded.
When deputies arrived, flames were coming from the top of the detached garage, but the homeowners had gotten out of the home and weren’t injured. The fire damaged the side of the house, causing what the press release called “moderate damage,” and the garage was a total loss.
The house next door also received moderate damage, but the residents were also evacuated and not injured. The scene is being investigated by the Racine County Fire Investigation Task Force.
