Andrew Obregon is back in Wisconsin.
Three weeks after being captured just over the state line in Illinois, Obregon waved his extradition hearing Tuesday in Lake County Circuit Court.
According to a press release from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, Obregon was transported to the Kenosha County Jail by Kenosha County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday afternoon.
He appeared in court Wednesday afternoon, being charged with 32 different counts – including two separate counts of first degree intention homicide.
Obregon, the primary suspect in the murder of Tywon Anderson, is facing a number of charges in both states. In Lake County, Ill., he is charged with several different traffic violations as well as a felony charge of stealing a vehicle – all stemming from the final chase Oct. 12 while trying to elude Racine and Kenosha County sheriff’s deputies.
Obregon stole a 58-year-old woman’s Chevy Spark when he was discovered at the home the woman was checking. He beat her when she refused to give him the keys.
Once the sheriff’s department discovered the vehicle had On-Star, law enforcement used it to first locate the vehicle and then shut it down to 5 mph.
Obregon took off on foot and was captured shortly after.
