According to a Skyward Alert sent out about an hour ago, Burlington High School has been evacuated due to a bomb threat.
The Burlington Area School District office confirmed the evacuation. At the scene, City of Burlington fire fighters were just entering the building to do a walk-through.
Students and staff have been dismissed for the day, and the school will remain closed until 7 a.m. tomorrow morning.
According to City of Burlington Fire Chief Alan Babe, all after-school activities on site have been cancelled, and BASD Superintendent Peter Smet said the building will remained closed until tomorrow morning.
However, off-site activities – including the girls volleyball match at Westosha Central – are going on as planned.
