CATHE’s Big Bash to get all quizzical

Entering its fourth year, the CATHE Center’s annual fundraiser, the Big Bash, has certainly found its niche.

Last year, the event – the main annual fundraiser for programing at the center and its attached House of Healing – generated $40,000.

“I think we have a great group of volunteers who help put the event on,” said Peter Turke, president of the Board of Directors at CATHE. “And I think we throw a really fun event.”

Tickets for Friday’s event, which starts at 5:30 p.m., are $40, or $300 for a table of eight. Stowell’s Catering will serve a buffet-style dinner along with deserts and beverages. There will also be a cash bar.

This year’s event, Turke said, is changing things up a little bit. A 1950’s-style quiz show will be at the heart of the evening, with each table competing in the contest.

With each round, there will be a musical number. Turke said the event will be spread across several different mediums.

“We’re trying something different this year,” he said. “I think it’s going to be fun.”

Tickets are available at the CATHE Center, The Coffee House at Chestnut and Pine, Fox River State Bank, and Rendezvous Jewelers. All proceeds go to the CATHE Center.

The organizers are also looking for silent auction items, and sponsors. If interested, email [email protected].

The CATHE Center provides arts, musical and education programs and events for the area community. The attached CATHE House provides health programing, with massage, Reiki and acupuncture.
