Soup-er Bowl event coming to St. John
St. John the Divine, 216 E. Chandler Blvd., Burlington, will have its annual Soup-er Bowls for Hunger fundraiser Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The cost is $10, and attendees can choose a hand-thrown ceramic bowl – crafted by area potters Wayne Herrick and Deanna Christman – to fill with their choice of soup.
All soups will be homemade, with bread and trimming available. Carryout orders will also be available. All proceeds will go to benefit The Transitional Living Center and The Hospitality Center of Racine.

Acting program available at CATHE Center
The CATHE Center, 125 E. State St., Burlington will have the “Try Theatre” acting training program starting in March.
Local theater artist Kaitlin Kobernick will lead the program. She will travel to Rijeka, Croatia for instructor training before starting the program.
Classes are 90 minutes twice a week for three and a half months for teenagers from 14 to 18. Cost is $250 for classes in improvisation, character development, auditioning techniques, vocal exercises, free thinking and group discussion. Try Theater is an acting academy based in Europe with a focus on empowering youth to find their own voice through theater.

Appraisal fair to be held at Waterford High
Absolutely Waterford will have an appraisal fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at Waterford Union High School.
Certified appraisers will be on hand, as well as antique and vintage sellers. There will also be demonstrations and a food court.

Waterford FFA craft show approaching
The Waterford FFA Alumni will hold its annual Spring Vendor/Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Waterford Union High School commons STREET ADDRESS WOULD USUALLY GO HERE BUT IT’S IN THE BRIEF ABOVE.
Admission is $1, with proceeds going to the high school’s FFA scholarship fund. There will be a lunch, raffle and a bake sale as well as vendors.
