A Kansasville man is charged in Racine County Circuit Court with his fifth drunken driving offense.
Johnny Bryson Sr., 48, was charged Tuesday with operating while intoxicated, fifth or sixth offense, with a general alcohol concentration enhancer. He had previous convictions in Wisconsin and Georgia dating back to 1995.
According to the criminal complaint, a Racine County Sheriff’s deputy did a random Department of Transportation check on a 2001 Dodge Durango, which came back with a registration suspended due to emissions.
When the deputy conducted a traffic stop, he allegedly noticed bloodshot, glassy eyes on Bryson. When asked how much he’d had to drink, Bryson said one drink The deputy administered three different field sobriety tests, all of which allegedly indicated impairment. The deputy then asked Bryson to submit to a portable breath test, which registered at .156.
The deputy got a search warrant for an evidentiary blood draw, which was done at All Saints Hospital in Racine. After the test, Bryson refused to sign an alcohol/drug influence report or answer any questions, telling the deputy he wanted an attorney.
Bryson was then transported to Racine County Jail.

- Samuel R. Olson, 51, of Burlington was charged recently with operating while intoxicated, sixth offense, in Walworth County Circuit Court. Olson was apprehended for alleged drunken driving at about 10:05 p.m. Oct. 4 on Highway 50 at Mariondale Road in the Town of Lyons.
- Audie M. Berryman, 59, of Lyons was also charged recently in Walworth County Circuit Court with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, both fifth or sixth offense.
