Son charged with murder in Hales Corners

A missing woman’s remains were found in a Muskego landfill Sunday, and her son is now charged with first-degree intentional homicide.

Julie Rozewicz, 68, was reported missing Friday. On Sunday, her remains were found in Emerald Park Landfill in Muskego.

Her son, Robert, 40, was charged Tuesday after the remains were confirmed to be his mother’s. He remains in Milwaukee County Jail on a $500,000 cash bail.

According to a news release issued by the Hales Corners Police Department, Robert Rozewicz was questioned following his mother’s disappearance and allegedly admitted to killing his mother.

After an intensive search effort over the weekend, her remains were found in the landfill. The Waukesha County Coroner’s office confirmed Tuesday that the partial remains found were Julie Rozewicz.
