Waterford man accused of battery after bar fight

A 39-year-old Waterford man is facing felony charges after allegedly hitting a woman at Lucky Mojos tavern in Burlington.

Jeffrey Lee Decker was charged in Racine County Circuit Court with two counts of substantial battery, as a repeater, as well as a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge for an incident that took place in May 2015.

According to the criminal complaint, a City of Burlington police officer was on patrol when we observed “a large disturbance” outside the bar.

During the investigation, one patron indicated Decker had allegedly hit a woman in the bar. A second person, a man, said he had been hit as well.

Decker allegedly admitted to being in the bar and involved in the altercation, but his memory was “fuzzy” after he’d had “a lot” to drink.

 

Rochester man arrested for drunken driving

A Rochester man who was driving on a pair of flat tires in the City of Burlington is accused of his fifth drunken driving offense.

Gary Kempken, 48, was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Tuesday after he was pulled over by police Saturday. The felony charge of drunken driving, with a general alcohol concentration enhancer, could result in his fifth conviction. Kempken’s record shows drunken driving convictions in Racine, Norway municipal court, South Carolina and Waukesha.

According to the criminal complaint, City of Burlington police received an anonymous complaint of a vehicle striking the median at Falcon Ridge Drive and Milwaukee Avenue in Burlington. Kempken was stopped by police at Milwaukee Avenue and Grove Street, with his front and rear driver’s side tires deflated.

Kempken was administered field sobriety tests after officers noticed a strong odor of intoxicants on his breath, as well as several other clues. He did not provide enough of a breath sample for a portable test, and a blood test was done after obtaining a warrant.

The results are pending.

 

Man charged with felony bail jumping after drunken driving

Jonathan Tabor, a Waterford resident, was charged with felony bail jumping Tuesday after being stopped and charged with drunken driving for the third time in the Town of Waterford Sunday.

According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched to East Main Street to take a report of a motorcycle accident.

Police arrived to see Tabor and a woman arguing. Tabor was under bond for a previous incident with the woman, in which he was charged with attempted strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct. The bond stipulated he have no contact with the woman.

When police arrived, he allegedly told them the woman had caused him to fall by moving around on the motorcycle while he was driving.

When asked how much he’d had to drink, Tabor allegedly told police, “enough, and this will be my third OWI when you arrest me,” as well as “I’m not going to lie to you, I’m drunk.”
