A 25-year-old man is facing a charge of recklessly endangering safety for allegedly stabbing another man multiple times at a home in Lyons Monday morning.
Walworth County Sheriff’s officials said a request for the charge against Andres Lopez Ruiz has been forwarded to the Walworth County District Attorney’s office. The formal charge was pending as of Tuesday morning.
According to Sheriff’s officials, the county’s communications center received a 911 call at 6:33 a.m. requesting an ambulance at 3185 W. Barry Dr., Lyons. After making the request the caller hung up.
A first responder from the Lyons Fire Department found the victim, a 28-year-old man, on the driveway of the home with multiple stab wounds to the torso, according to officials.
The victim was transported to an area hospital and was in stable condition Monday, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies and City of Lake Geneva Police officers located Ruiz at the home and he was taken into custody without incident.
“This was not a random act and there is no danger to the community,” Sheriff’s Capt. Robert Hall said in a news release.
The case remains under investigation. Sheriff’s officials ask anyone who may have information about the stabbing to contact them through the Walworth County Crime Stoppers online at www.p3tips.com/index.htm.
