Tapping the sugar bush

The Seno K/RLT Conservancy hosted a Maple Sugaring program in early March. Along with learning tree identification, the centuries old processes of tapping maple trees, creating maple syrup, and sugaring techniques, attendees learned the Native American history behind the tradition. Naturalist and Seno Educator Nancy Carlson taught the program and showed young attendees how to tap a tree. See this week’s editions of the Burlington Standard Press, Waterford Post and Westine Report for a full story on the programs and history of Seno Conservancy. (Photo by Chad Hensiak)
