Racine County Treasurer Jane Nikolai announced recently she will provide services in Burlington once each month beginning in May.
Remote office hours will be offered at the Western Service Center, 209 North Main Street, starting Tuesday, May 15. Nikolai will be available by appointments only in Burlington the third Tuesday of the month.
“Too often, citizens, especially the elderly, are reluctant to travel to the county Courthouse (in Racine),” Nikolai said in a press release. “By offering another location option, I hope to accommodate more individuals.”
She’ll be available to meet with residents to provide assistance on property tax issues. In addition, Nikolai said she’ll listen to concerns, answer questions, set up monthly payment arrangements and offer information on the Homestead credit, lottery and gaming credits, and options to avoid tax foreclosure.

Nikolai’s satellite office hours are by appointment only, from the hours of 10 a.m. until noon on the third Tuesday of the month: May 15, June 19, July 17, Aug. 21, and Sept. 18.
