Like many organizations these days, the Chestnut Club in Burlington, a non-profit senior citizen daycare facility, works on the generosity of others.

So when the group issued a request for care packages – items desperately needed for every day use in the facility – RN coordinator Colleen Lois was happy to see a response.

“The care packages are vital for the day-to-day needs of the operation and client care at the Chestnut Club,” said Lois. “The items are used daily, and these donations help Lincoln Lutheran Chestnut Club… defray some of the daily expenses.”

So far, the group has received a pair of care packages from private parties, two from the Burlington Jaycees and one from Emmaus Lutheran Church.

Edstrom Industries was the first to come through with one from a business last week.

Included in the care packages:

• eight boxes of facial tissue;

• one 300-count package of napkins;

• one bottle of dish soap;

• one bottle of hand sanitizer;

• one bottle of toilet bowl cleaner;

• four containers disposable personal wipes;

• one 30-count package of 13-gallon kitchen garbage bags;

• two large cans of decaf coffee;

• one bottle of Lysol all-purpose cleaner; and

• bingo prizes (gently used knickknacks, travel-pack tissues, lip balm, etc).

Donation of individual items from the kit are also accepted. For more information, contact Lois at (262) 661-4740.
