As the clock ticks down to Saturday’s “Coffee House Rocks!” event at The Coffee House at Chestnut and Pine, General Manager Carly Rubach is about as ready as she can be.

“We are very excited,” said Rubach. “We’ve done all the planning we can do and all we can do is see how the event goes.

“We’ll learn for our big event next year.”

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at the coffee house and on Chestnut Street next to the business. The street will be closed to traffic between Dodge and Pine streets for the duration of the event.

Rubach said she and others involved in the planning feel good about the event.

“We feel very confident in how it all came together,” Rubach said. “We feel very lucky with the musicians.”

A list of the events planned for the day, starting with the youth workshops in the morning, includes:

• 10-11 a.m. (option one), Record art with Christine Kramer: learn how to repurpose old vinyl records into artwork. Participants will be able to imagine what their own band’s record would like and take their artwork home.

• 10-11 a.m. (option two), Harmonica with John Stano: each participant will get an introductory harmonica lesson as well as a harmonica they can take home with them.

• 11 a.m. to noon (option one), Hip Hop music with The Figureheads: learn how to compose music using computer-based software as well as how to write your own song lyrics. The Figureheads will then perform at noon.

• 11 a.m. to noon (option two), Music Exploration with Ron Pedersen: the Burlington Area School District teacher will offer a chance for students to test drive a variety of musical instruments.

Registration is recommended at www.surveymonkey.com/s/98CBVXS, and is on a first-come, first-serve basis there and the day of the event.

The CATHE Center will also offer face painting, a chair massage, a Latin dance demonstration, and more. The Haylofters’ junior production of “Dear Edwina, Jr.” will also offer a preview.

Music Matters will collect instrument donations and host other interactive activities at their booth, and WBSD will broadcast the event live and have giveaways throughout the day.

The musical performers include:

• 2 p.m. – Terry Murphy and Friends will perform. Murphy lives just outside Waterford, and performs a wide variety of music.

• 3 p.m. – The group “1703,” an acoustic duo of Brandon and Rachel Dawley, who hail originally from Burlington.

• 4 p.m. – Mad Bark, a group with songs from The Rolling Stones to Lady Gaga in its repertoire, will perform.

Evening headliners will be Nashville recording artists Los Colognes (5 p.m.) and Rayland Baxter (6 p.m.). Appleton natives Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons will close out the evening at 8 p.m.
