City of Burlington firefighters were dispatched to a residential area just east of Echo Lake Foods late Monday morning for a report of a natural gas leak.
Fire and rescue crews responded to the area about 10:50 a.m. and determined the gas odor was emanating from the Echo Lake Foods property.
A crew from gas utility We Energies responded to the site and shut off the leak about 11:20 a.m., according to radio dispatches.
There were no injuries or property damage reported as a result of the gas leak.
Echo Lake Foods was the site of a massive fire on Jan. 30 and has since been undergoing extensive salvage and construction operations to repair the areas of the breakfast foods processing plant that were damaged by the fire.
