Several local employers expected to participate
The Racine County Workforce Development Center will sponsor a job fair for displaced Echo Lake Foods employees on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
The fair will run from 1-4 p.m. at Veterans Terrace, 589 Milwaukee Ave., Burlington,
Racine County Executive Jim Ladwig said the job fair has been organized to follow up informational briefings for the displaced workers held Wednesday.
“It is important that these vital government services are brought directly to the people affected by this tragic fire and loss of jobs,” Ladwig explained.
Employers are invited to recruit for current job openings ranging from entry level to positions requiring advanced degrees. Employers are invited to participate free of charge. Employers who would like to participate may register by visiting www.wdc.racineco.com or contacting Valerie Hanson of the Racine County Workforce Development Center at (262) 638-6603 or [email protected].
The job fair is open to Echo Lake Foods employees, as well as other interested citizens. It will feature opportunities for job seekers to meet with employers and to apply for current openings. They may also research various academic programs available through local schools and community organizations.
“A wide range of jobs will be available; from entry level warehouse, maintenance mechanic, forklift operators, hospitality positions, assembly, production workers, truck packers, industrial and electrical engineers,” Ladwig said.
Job seekers may prepare resumes and make copies in advance of the fair by visiting the Racine County Workforce Development Center in Burlington at 496 McCanna Parkway.
