The Burlington Standard Press on Feb. 7 will host a forum for candidates in next month’s primary election for local School Board.
The forum is slated for 7 p.m. at Veterans Terrace at Echo Park, 589 Milwaukee Avenue.
All nine candidates for the two open seats on the Burlington Area School District Board of Education have been invited to participate.
The candidates will have a chance to introduce themselves and their platforms and then will answer a series of topical questions posed by a moderator.
The event is expected to last about 90 minutes. Audience members will have a chance to submit questions for consideration.
The candidates are: Larry Anderson (incumbent), Jim Bousman, Andrew Endl, Julie Koldeway, Susan Kessler, Eugene Lindemann, John Maltby, Norma Miller and Megan Shumate. The second incumbent, Scott Barrett, did not seek re-election.
The primary election is scheduled for Feb. 19 and will narrow the field of candidates to four. The regular election will be held April 2.
