Schaal family steps up for second straight year

Last year went so well, the Schaal Family decided to step up and make “Breakfast on the Farm” happen again.
For the second straight year after a 15-year break, Racine County will have a dairy breakfast, served at the Schaal Dairy Farm, 1800 McKee Road, Burlington, from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Last year, the Nobles hosted the event at Lone Chestnut Farm.
The event is held in conjunction with the National Dairy Council and Midwest Dairy Association’s declaration of June as “dairy month.”
The event is family friendly, with a breakfast of eggs, sausage, milk and more. There will also be a tour of the farm, live bluegrass music, a farm equipment display, kids games and a petting zoo.
The cost is $6 for adults, with children age 3 and under eating free.
The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and Racine County Dairy Promotion groups work to promote dairy farms throughout June, and Racine’s breakfast is one of many. Walworth and Kenosha counties had their dairy breakfasts last week.
