Students and staff at Burlington High School were placed in a “lock and hold” situation Wednesday afternoon while administrators investigated a threat discovered in a boys’ bathroom, according to an email sent to parents and students of the school.
Administrators determined the threat was not credible and the “lock and hold” order was lifted. The email praised staff and students for following protocol during the incident.
Here is the text of the email sent to parents at the conclusion of the school day:
“This afternoon at BHS we were made aware through social media of a threat that was written in a boys restroom. To investigate the possible threat, we went into a lock and hold so we could assess the situation. After investigating, it was not deemed to be credible. Staff and students did an excellent job following established protocols.
“Thank you,
“BHS Administration”
