The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will host a public involvement meeting to discuss preliminary design concepts for the resurfacing of Highway 120, from Highway 36 to the Como Creek Bridge in the Town of Lyons.
The meeting is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, at Mt. Zion Christian Church, 2330 Highway 120, Lake Geneva.
According to state transportation officials, the purpose of the proposed project is to rehabilitate about 1.33 miles of Highway 120 and to improve traffic operations in the corridor.
The Buckby/Krueger Road intersection will be upgraded with exclusive right turn lanes and a bypass lane will be added for northbound Highway 120 at Oak Lane.
In addition, bicycle accommodations will be implemented. These improvements will extend the life of the existing pavement, increase the safety of turning maneuvers and improve accessibility, according to officials.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to occur in the fall of 2019 or spring of 2020.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. DOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis and maps showing the proposed improvements will be on display.
