A revered firefighter and friend is recalled by those who knew him best – the other firefighters who trusted him with their lives.
Gregory Havel was so much more than just a firefighter, according to those who worked alongside him. He was a friend, confidant and spiritual leader.

- COACH SENTENCED: James Kivisto, a former gymnastics coach, will spend more than 17 years behind bars after being convicted of video recording children using the restroom at his Win Lake facility and possession of child pornography.
- LONGER DAYS: The Burlington Area School District will add seven minutes to the school day, effective Monday, after the district needed to cancel school for five days because of inclement weather.
- AMAZING WOMAN: For some girls and women, getting crowned at a pageant is just a dream, but Burlington’s Jenna Antreassian made the dream a reality last Saturday when she was named Wisconsin’s Miss Amazing.
- GRAPPLING FOR GOLD: State individual wrestling titles will be decided on the mats in Madison this week and the area has plenty of contestants who will go for the gold.
