Here’s a look at some of the other stories in this week’s Standard Press:
- DRONE DISRUPTS RESCUE: Two brothers from the Town of Burlington turned themselves into Racine County authorities after they flew a drone above a two-vehicle crash that involved Flight for Life last week.
- A HARROWING EXPERIENCE: Correspondent Mike Ramczyk recounts the last month of his life, which included a cancer diagnosis, surgery requiring a hospital stay and the premature birth of his second child. At one point he, his wife, and his newborn son were in three different hospitals.
- AQUADUCKS WIN STATE: The Browns Lake Aquaducks outlasted wicked weather, which was a constant struggle all season, to capture its first Division II Wisconsin State Waterski Show title in a decade last weekend.
- SWEET TENURE TO END: Vicki Noel didn’t think she would watch children grow into young adults as an area business owner. But, Noel saw it happen for 27 years operating candy and confections store Delights at 133 E. Chestnut St., which will close on July 31.
- THE BUSINESS OF CDB: Wisconsin, unlike neighboring states, has been resistant to legalize medical or recreational marijuana. In the meantime, the sale and use of its derivative CDB has created opportunity for area businesses.
