In this week’s Standard Press…

The Burlington Area School District, which previously acknowledged some shortcomings related to its handling of racial matters, recently submitted a corrective action plan to the Department of Public Instruction outlining directives to address an April 9 ruling against the district.

“The submission aims to respond to directives from the DPI and further commits to making equity evident in every facet of the district,” officials said.

The district’s effort to improve racial equity in local schools at the state’s directive is the top story in this week’s edition of the Burlington Standard Press.
