Event set for Saturday at UGUHS
Children and adults are invited to come in costume to Union Grove’s Great Pumpkinfest, being held Saturday, Oct. 29, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the gymnasium at Union Grove Union High School, 3433 S. Colony Ave.
Vie for prizes by bringing in a carved or decorated pumpkin.
Enjoy many other free fun family activities and refreshments throughout the day.
Come join in the fun or become a volunteer.
The Pumpkinfest schedule on Saturday is:
• 1 p.m., costume parade and judging (4 years old and younger)
• 1:15 p.m., entries due for baking contest and pet photo contest
• 1:15 p.m., pumpkin dessert contest (key ingredient has to be pumpkin!)
• 1:30 p.m., costume parade and judging (5-7 years old)
• 2 p.m., performance by storyteller Mama Baer, sponsored by Union Grove Lions Club
• 2:45 p.m., costume parade and judging (8-11 years old)
• 3:15 p.m., costume parade and judging (ages 12-adult)
Other activities include a Jack-O-Lantern contest (decorated or carved; all entries must be in by 1:15 p.m.), games, raffle and fun for all.
This event is free, but donations to help it continue are always welcome.
