Timothy G. Ruff Welch, formerly of Raymond, will perform in a voice and piano concert being held Thursday, July 26, at 7 p.m., at Bethania Lutheran Church, 4120 Wright Ave, Racine. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the church’s “Thread by Thread” clothing ministry.
Welch, who now lives in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, will perform with Baritone Eduardo Munoz-Zuniga.
Welch was raised in Racine County and attended Raymond Elementary School. He graduated from Union Grove High School in 1976.
In his youth, he was musically active in the community through school, 4-H, and North Cape Lutheran Church.
Welch began his piano studies under Lois Jasperson. He later perfected his skills under the tutelage of David Bremel and Everett Kuiper. He worked as a professional musician in Chicago until 2000, when he moved to Guadalajara. He is currently a professional accompanist in Mexico and teaches voice and piano. He is also the choral director of LosCantantes del Lago, Chapala, Jalisco and Cantabile, Guadalajara. Welch is the Minister of Music at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Chapala.
Muñoz, a baritone, is a sought-after soloist who has participated in a variety of events in Guadalajara and throughout Mexico
