The Union Grove Lions Club will hold its 25th annual pancake breakfast at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 3329 S. Colony Ave. (Highway 45), Union Grove, on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
This year’s breakfast, as in the past, will be more than just a good meal.
It will be a great chance to visit with friends, family and neighbors in a community atmosphere.
The breakfast will consist of all-you-can-eat pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, beverage, milk and coffee. Carryouts will be available.
Adult tickets are $6 in advance, $6.50 at the door. Children ages 4 to 12 years are $3 in advance, $3.50 at the door. Children under age 4 eat free.
Tickets are available from all Lion members, Grove Insurance, Aurora Pharmacy, Community State Bank, Piggly Wiggly Union Grove, and Union Grove Lumber.
Plastic garbage bags of various sizes will be for sale, along with the annual bake sale by the Union Grove Lioness Club.
The Union Grove/Yorkville Fire Department will have a fire engine and rescue squad vehicle on hand for show and tell.
Their mascot, D.W. Bear, will be passing out stickers, Valentine candy and fire prevention material to children.
Also on hand will be a demonstration of a vision machine, which is a machine that helps the visually impaired read.
Net proceeds from the pancake breakfast will benefit Union Grove Lions community projects (visually handicapped, hearing impaired, vision machines, Wisconsin Lions Camp, leader dog, UG Area Food Bank, UGUHS scholarships, Boy and Girl Scouts.
Also, used eyeglasses and used hearing aids will be collected so be sure to bring these to the pancake breakfast.
