The Relay for Life team with the Union Grove–Yorkville Fire Department will host a rummage and bake sale on Saturday, May 19. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
The sale will be held rain or shine. A large array of items including baby clothes, toys, household items, furniture and baked goods will be on hand.
In honor of National EMS Week, the Department is also holding EMS-related activities on May 19.
Everyone is welcome to bring the whole family and tour the station and rigs; try on gear; and have a hot dog with DW Bear.
Volunteers will offer EMS-related activities including new EMS equipment and airway demonstrations, and will also offer blood pressure checks.
“As always, we are looking for new members to join our volunteer team!” said a spokesperson.
The Department invites everyone to visit the station May 19 and help volunteers support the American Cancer Society and also consider whether volunteering for fire and/or EMS might be a good fit.
Both activities will be held on May 19 at the Department station, 700 Main Street, Union Grove, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
