A Kansasville man is charged with a sixth offense of felony operating while intoxicated after an officer with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to a reckless driving complaint about 9:28 p.m., Dec. 20.

According to the criminal complaint filed Dec. 21 in Racine County Circuit Court:

The police officer responded to the area of Highway 20 and 90th Street, after receiving information from the county dispatcher.

She observed the suspect vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 20. It was observed following another vehicle very closely and drastically weaving in its lane of traffic.

When stopped by police, the vehicle’s driver was identified as Jonathan Calek, 49, of Kansasville. Calek reportedly told the officer that he knew his blood alcohol level was too high.

Calek reportedly also told the officer he is a convicted felon and “has gone through all this before.”

Calek reportedly failed standardized field sobriety tests. He was arrested for a sixth offense of operating while intoxicated, which carries a maximum penalty of six years in prison, $10,000 in fines, or both.

Calek was scheduled to be in Racine County Circuit Court Dec. 27 for a preliminary hearing.
