After a very accomplished year, Union Grove High School’s theater department will present its final production of the 2012-13 season: The Senior One-Act Festival.
The concept behind the one-act festival is that seniors Greta Black, Caitlin Fanning, and Logan Kohlhagen are stepping into the director’s shoes. Each student has selected a 30-minute one-act play that they have cast, directed, and designed.
The students are in complete control of these productions and are showcasing their abilities outside of performing. There will also be a small contest involved that night where audience members will vote on what they believe to be the best one-act and the winning student director will claim a $50 cash prize.
In addition to the one-acts that night, it will also be the night the high school says goodbye to its departing seniors. Each will provide a speech about what they have learned over the past four years and the department will show its thanks.
The fundraiser is being sponsored by Troupe 7878 of the International Thespian Society and all proceeds will benefit the Union Grove theatre department.
The show will take place on May 3rd at 7 p.m., with $5 tickets at the door.
