Dave Daniels, of Mighty Grand Dairy in Union Grove, has been selected as a winner in America’s Farmers Grow Communities, a program sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, which gives farmers the opportunity to win a $2,500 donation direct to their favorite local nonprofit organizations.
To further support counties declared disaster areas by the USDA due to drought, winning farmers in these counties were able to double the donation, for a total of $5,000 to further support the community.
Kenosha County was declared a disaster area by the USDA, giving Daniels the opportunity to place two $2,500 donations. Daniels selected Kenosha County 4-H Council and Providence Catholic School.
Kenosha County 4-H Council, Providence Catholic School, Daniels and a Monsanto representative participated in a check presentation ceremony Feb. 25, held at the Pinewood Derby, Bristol.
