Union Grove Area Chamber of Commerce
Bill Martin and Roger Palmen have been named as recipients of this year’s Greater Union Grove Area Chamber Choice Awards.
• For years, Bill Martin has maintained the appearance of his buildings, home and landscape – which is obvious when you drive by or stop at either of his family-owned car dealerships.
Bill also maintains “Martins Field,” which is used by hundreds of T-ball kids each summer.
He has adopted a highway, which can be seen when entering Union Grove from
the north on Highway 45.
• The late Roger Palmen of Roger Palmen Auto Sales
was recently honored as well.
Roger was a tuba player with the Belle City Brassworks Band, and wanted to share his love of music with the community. For many
years, he and his business paid the band’s fee to bring live music to both
the Union Grove and the Waterford Fourth of July parades.
In addition, he sponsored a Belle City Brassworks band concert each year at Union Grove High School, complete with free refreshments.
Roger’s volunteerism also extended to other communities. He served on the Kenosha Fourth of July Parade Committee, and donated $10,000 to Park High School toward their automotive department.
