A 21-year-old Kenosha County man died Thursday morning when the car he was driving rear-ended a dump truck in the Town of Raymond.
The crash occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 45 and 4-1/2 Mile Road, according to a press release issued by the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.
The name of the deceased was withheld pending notification of relatives.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, both vehicles were nouthbound when the crash occurred. Witnesses told officials the car collided with the back of the dump truck.
Emergency medical responders attempted lifesaving measures at the scene.
There were no other occupants in the car and the dump truck driver was not injured.
Speed may have been a factor in the crash and the driver of the car was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
