“Christmas in the Grove,” the annual holiday concert featuring performances by mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Schauf Tyler and concert pianist Dr. Luke Tyler will be held Thursday, Dec. 11, at Union Grove Congregational Church, 1106 11th Ave.
The 7:30 p.m. event is free and open to the community, with seating available on a first-come basis.
The Muncie, Ind., couple will perform Christmas classics including “Bethlehem Morning,” “O! Holy Night,” “Mary Did You Know” and “Carol of the Bells,” along with many other favorite holiday pieces.
The performance will include an audience sing-a-long and a period of audience requests.
Lizz Tyler, a graduate of Union Grove High School, holds a master’s degree in voice performance from Ball State University and is a member of the music faculty at Taylor University. She has appeared on stage in opera and musical productions including “The Three Musketeers,” “Dido and Aeneas,” “La finta Giardiniera,” “The Merry Wives of Windsor” and “Albert Herring.”
Luke Tyler has been performing publicly since the age of 9. He is a professor of piano at Taylor University and serves as music director at Greenfield Christian Church, Greenfield, Ind.
