The second annual celebration to Honor our Veterans will take place Wednesday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the lower banquet room of The Cotton Exchange, 345 Hickory Hollow Drive, Waterford. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
The event is sponsored by Integrity Funeral Services, Waterford, to honor those who have protected our freedom and to educate the public about why freedom is not free.
Some highlights of the 2012 Honor our Veterans program include:
• Military vehicles on display one week before the ceremony in front of the Cotton Exchange to promote this event.
• Color Guard Presentation
• Speakers include Col. Peter Pochowski, United State Army, who served over 30 years. As a brigade commander, he was responsible for units in three states and 11 cities, with 1,000 soldiers under his command. Col. Pochowski was awarded the Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster
• Artwork and poems by Fox River Middle School on display throughout the banquet hall. Several students will read their poems during the ceremony. The Fox River band will play patriotic
songs as the public enters the event and throughout the ceremony.
• Dedication presentation to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10441, Tichigan Area Memorial Post.
• Gun salute
• Refreshments served following the ceremony.
The speaker for Veteran’s and Freedom of Election will be Colonel Peter Pochowski, United State Army who served over 30 years in our military.
