Village bans all outside watering
By Patricia Bogumil

Residents in the Village of Waterford know firsthand the truth of the old adage that if something can go wrong, it will, and at the worst possible time.
On Saturday, one of the village’s municipal well pumps totally failed at the height of an extended summertime dry spell.
As a result, all outdoor watering in the village has been banned until further notice. That includes lawn and garden sprinkling as well as filling up kiddie pools.
Residents and businesses are also being asked to conserve water wherever possible until further notice.
The sprinkling ban does not affect Town of Waterford residents, whose water is supplied through private, rather than municipal, wells.
