Waterford village officials are beginning to schedule candidate interviews this week for the Village Clerk position, a job that opened up in August when former Village Clerk Vikki Zuehlke resigned to accept a position with the City of Racine.
The Village received 35 applications for the position, which are being reviewed by Village staff and Personnel Committee members.
Candidate interviews will be conducted with staff, Personnel Committee members and members of the Village Board, if available, explained Rebecca Ewald, the Village Administrator.
Recommendations will eventually be made by the Personnel Committee and then provided to the Village Board for action.
There is no set timetable in place to fill the opening, Ewald said, although the intention is to move forward in earnest while keeping all groups involved.
While there’s a pool of 35 candidates to sort through, village leaders know that it will not be easy to replace Zuehlke, who held her position for 8 years.
“Vikki is a very talented and hardworking staffer and she’s been a vital cog to our overall team approach in delivering services to Waterford village residents,” commented Village President Tom Roanhouse.
“We all thank her for helping our community prosper and grow to be a great place to live, work and play.”
