Maybe all the hollering done last week by Waterford Town Chairman Tom Hincz about state plans to create 10 more parking spots at the Tichigan Wildlife Area reached the ears of higher-ups in Madison.
Or maybe it’s the angst felt over the possible local cost for a dredging project under consideration for the Waterford Waterway Management District.
Whatever the impetus, a town hall-style meeting hosted by state Rep. David Craig (R-Town of Vernon) and officials with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is planned in Waterford for Thursday, Sept. 26, to “discuss natural resource issues that impact residents of the 83rd Assembly District,” according to a release emailed Sept. 13.
As of press time Wednesday, neither the Village nor the Town of Waterford had not been notified of the event.
But Hincz said he’ll plan to be there, upon learning of the meeting from the Waterford Post.
On Sept. 26, all residents of the 83rd Assembly District are invited to the public session, which will focus on hunting, fishing, water quality and waterways issues.
The meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Waterford Public Library, 101 N. River St, in downtown Waterford.
Craig and DNR experts will be on hand to answer residents’ questions about natural resource issues important to residents of the 83rd District, Craig explained in his media release.
The 83rd state Assembly district includes Waterford, parts of East Troy and some Milwaukee and Waukesha counties, including Big Bend and Vernon.
